Spending 5 minutes a day for a better parent-child relationship

Updated: Oct 18, 2022

It’s been more than a month since school started, how are you feeling? Do you have time to listen to your children? Our feelings are so easily ignored with the busy everyday lives we have. Just by spending 5 minutes a day going over and sharing our feelings helps us understand each other more.

We’d like to invite you to start this 5 minutes with your children by asking, “Do you feel contented today? What have you experienced?” Then, try to know more about the reasons behind. “I felt so warm and touched when my son reached out to hold my hand!” “Daddy has been so busy recently. I felt lonely as we only had so little time to spend together.”

There’s no right or wrong way about how we feel. We invite you not to deny the negative feelings you have. Instead, make a pause, take a deep breath, and check out what’s happening.

“I express my feelings every day - but it doesn’t work at all!” If you feel the same, we invite you to take a closer look at our sharing next week. We’ll be looking into what makes communication difficult.
